Jo’s Story
I initially was recommended by two separate sources that advised that I should visit Rachelle at MEE ACTIVE. I finally listened and was ready to move forward and try and improve my health and strength. Before the first session I was nervous but really looking forward to see if I could improve my health, reduce my daily pain and become as strong as I could with what I had to work with.
What a revelation! After that first session and for the whole week following I used the No.1 lesson that I took away from that session. I learnt how to breathe to protect my pelvic floor. I found that when using the breathing techniques whilst performing my everyday home duties, the pain reduction was phenomenal. In some cases there was no pain, whereas before I would always experience pain. I actually felt, for the first time in many years that there may be a chance of improving my situation.
I was really surprised when I was on holidays for two weeks how much walking and other activities I could cope with. I didn’t have high hopes of being able to participate in all activities with the family. We walked a trail 8 kms long and I did the whole beautiful walk. I only missed part of one activity and that was because my knees were having troubles with the different ground levels. It certainly built my confidence and knew that I was on the right track and improving.
The biggest success so far is that I feel so much stronger and the severity and frequency of the pain has reduced substantially. Small tasks that used to cause pain and were so difficult now seem easy and I feel like I am getting my life back bit by bit.
I avoided trying something different for a long time. I am so glad I gave the program a go. In retrospect I should have started ages ago. Give it a go and you may be surprised like I am with the change in myself and feeling that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Rachelle. Joanne K

Cindie’s Story
In 2015, I had Emergency spinal surgery. I had a prolapsed disc in my lower back and it pressed on a nerve and I lost the ability to use my right leg. Before any major damage, I had it repaired. My surgeon made me promise to join a gym to lose weight.
I started with yoga and Pilates; however, I’m not ok being left to do poses and do them incorrectly and injure myself further. So, I stopped.
Fast-forward 2 years.
I was on FB and saw a “Mee Active” Post, & messaged Rachelle a little bit about myself (I’ll bet she wishes, that “little bit” was all that was wrong with me!!!)
I went for my session to meet and greet, and, it was decided a PT session to see what I could/couldn’t do was needed.
(So, my left ankle which pops out when putting shoes on puts strain on my right knee which I had reconstructed in 2010 which puts stress on my lower back that I had operated on just 2 years prior!!!) AND… I don’t like to sweat.
I was put on the treadmill and I was lucky to be on a 3. My knee clicked, I puffed like a pack-a-day smoker. I had to hold on.
I could bend down and touch my knees.
I couldn’t kneel on the floor.
I couldn’t get up from the floor without grunting and groaning and without the aide of the bar.
The night before my real first PT session, I climbed into bed… and popped my reconstructed knee. I was determined to turn up and do my session… albeit using a walking stick and with my knee in a brace (thigh to calf).
Rachelle was the first person I called (before my husband, Doctor and boss). Rachelle worked with me. She helped me strengthen my knee and toss the brace. (Doctor said another surgery was required!)
This was September 2017.
Last night, I did my second boxing class. I’m not awesome at it, but I enjoyed it… even through the sweat.
I can kneel to do Cat pose. I walk at a 6 on the treadmill, and if my gossip is good, I can bump that up to 6.3!
I can squat.
I can bend down and touch the floor with my palms.
I don’t like the bike. I’m not a fan, so I’m not even asked to get on it anymore. (The whinging is not worth the pain.)
I lift weights.
I breathe better and I’m more conscious of my breath. How my breath helps me do things.
I’m incredibly uncoordinated, but, when my brain engages and my body reacts, I CAN DO. And, if I hadn’t met Rachelle at Mee Active, I would definitely have injured myself time and again and been the couch potato that I was happy being because I was safe there.

I first saw an advertisement in the school newsletter for group fitness on Saturday mornings. I sent an email to Rachelle making an enquiry about whether or not a complete beginner like me would be able to manage. Her response to my email was prompt, warm, welcoming and so reassuring. I went along to my first class in May 2016, and I was hooked from the first session!
I found it to be fun, welcoming and inclusive of all body types and fitness levels. Rachelle provides a fun and challenging environment while being mindful of everyone’s different abilities and fitness levels. It’s an energetic and fun start to the weekend, surrounded by a wonderful, supportive group of people.
I also love the other group fitness classes. These classes are 45 minutes of fun which gets the heart rate up and leaves you feeling energised. It’s incredible to see yourself progress through this type of training – you very quickly see improvements in your fitness and stamina and you find you can push yourself just that little bit harder every week. Completely addictive and fun! Great people and lots of sweat ! Doesn’t get any better.
Rachelle’s one on one coaching sessions are aimed specifically towards your abilities, needs and goals. She is a coach with an incredible amount of empathy, who has the knack of being mindful of your fitness level, but able to push you and guide you to strive for that next level. She’s incredibly supportive and you cannot help but find your self-confidence and self-belief. Her training methods are based on a supportive and positive ethos, never shaming or shouting. If ever you’ve considered making that first step to try some exercise or coaching, please feel reassured that in Rachelle, you will find a supportive coach and encouraging community that will help you reach your goals (and beyond !)and feel positive about your body and exercise.
I’ve struggled with weight and fitness my whole life, but over the last 12 months due to personal reasons my weight has spiralled out of control. Having come out the other side relatively unscathed I made the decision it was finally time to do something about it. I knew I needed help though…In the past I had done the yoyo dieting, I’d done the weight watches, I’d done the calorie counting, I’d done the obsessive gym junkie thing, and I’d done the “keep an eagle eye on the scale numbers” thing… all of which worked for a while… but obviously not too well because I’m back to where I started if not worse off.
I had never been to a coach before, and to be honest they kind of turned me off. I don’t work well with someone screaming in my face telling me I need to get of my fat butt and work harder… but I thought I’d give it a go anyway. So I did a Google/gumtree/yellow pages search. I came across many that sounded OK’ish, and others that just didn’t get back to me at all with my enquiry. Then I found MEE Active. I sent off an enquiry email and Rachelle was very prompt in getting back to me answering all my questions and then some. She then followed up with a call at my convenience to discuss further if what she could offer would suit my needs. It didn’t take long for me to figure out this was the coahc for me.
The thing that attracted me most to MEE Active was that Rachelle had gone through a whole journey to movement/fitness herself. This was important to me because I needed someone that would understand what I was going through and could plan a program around my needs and someone that would know the tricks of the trade. The other plus was there was NO SCALES. I had given up using scales as it messed with my mind too much. So I was very pleased to hear that Rachelle worked this way also. And there is no calorie counting either… obviously its not great if I have McDonalds for breakfast , lunch and dinner but if I happen to have an occasional blow out, she encourages me to get back up on the horse. I don’t have to calorie count however I do have to watch what I put in my mouth. And put food in my body that will fuel it, not hinder it in preparation for each of our sessions.
Although I will never admit this to Rachelle… I do enjoy and get excited about going to our twice weekly sessions. I hurt like hell after each session but in a good way. She never pushes me beyond the limits of what she knows I can do (What she knows my limits are and what I think my limits are can be two completely different things which is why we sign up for coaching in the first place). It has been a gradual process to build up my fitness which has made the transition from a “do it myself exerciser” to a “I have my own coach” much, much, much easier.
Rachelle is not only a fitness coach, she is a motivator, an encourager, and a massive support person to have on your side, who is there to answer any of your questions at any time not just when your in a session.
I highly recommend MEE Active
What Cassie’s partner Adam has seen since Cassie has been training with MEE Active.
As a partner of Cassie i have seen first hand what Rachelle is achieving in her business. She not only motivates the body with her personalised training, she also motivates the mind in and out of her gym. She is a mentor first, coach second which is a rare trait in a coach these days. And the winner in all of this is a strong willed, self believing, healthy mind, body and soul.
I am 24 years old and in 2012 I had surgery on a shattered disc in my spine. I had a further operation in June 2013. I commenced training with Rachelle from MEE Active in July 2013 with minimal muscle and with way to much energy (mainly from eating too much sugar and junk food). With my back injury my goal was to tone my abdominal area and my back to help give it extra support. Prior to starting with Rachelle I had a constant bloated stomach and now you can see definition starting to show around my abs. I have not had any pain from my injury since commencing and feel so much healthier with my eating. I have recommended Rachelle to friends and will continue to recommend her. She keeps each session interesting and challenging and provides a friendly and encouraging environment.
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate my coaching sessions.
My fitness level has increased to a point that I never thought I would, or could achieve.
I even look forward to getting pushed to my limit as I know without you I would just cruise along without any real gains.
So thank you for helping me reach my goals.
I’ve been training with Rachelle for the last 12 months. I can honestly say I’ve never seen a coach as dedicated to providing a whole service as she is. Rachelle is motivating & encouraging in a positive way when I need it, helping me to do that little bit extra which produces more results. Her training sessions are never repetitive or boring. She makes each time interesting & is always bringing in new exercises. Rachelle constantly mixes up our session between cardio, weights, cross training & boxing which keeps my interest up along with making it fun. She is also conscious of not over doing an area therefore mixing it between upper & lower body, along with the small & large muscle groups. Rachelle is amazing at coming up with new food ideas whether it be a healthy snack, a dinner or breakfast & is very generous in sharing her finds with everyone. She has a deep knowledge & real interest in healthy but delicious food. Over the months training with Rachelle I have noticed my muscles have toned up & my body fat decreased but even with forced exercise breaks I’ve found I haven’t fallen back too far & it’s been quick to regain the tone. Personally I couldn’t keep up my gym regime without Rachelle’s encouragement, advice & dedication to helping me keep fit & healthy.
To whom might be considering getting fit,
I started with Rachelle from MEE Active at the end of October 2013. Within 4 months I’ve lost 23.5 cm off my body. My fitness and strength have dramatically improved. Rachelle is a fantastic coach and I’m so grateful I found her.
Rachelle is most caring and nurturing coach i have ever had…Through her guidance she has helped me reach goals i never thought imaginable..
When I started my journey a few months ago with you I decided that the scales only told me a number, but the true test for me was going to be my health and my clothes…
Well today was my first milestone, I fit into a pair of my shorts (comfortably) for the first time in two years !!!!!!!
Thank you very much for all your ongoing support and can’t wait until the shorts are too big for me xxx
You have been absolutely amazing in helping me get at least half way to my goal of double figures. You have been the only coach that has actually listened to my and my busted left side of my body. You have shown that your clients are important and for that I thank you. Many thanks for everything and really hope that I can continue this journey on my own. You have been the support I needed. Thank you. Best of luck. Xo.
Rachelle is a wonderful coach who encourages
Not only is Rachelle a lovely person outside of the gym, she is very welcoming to new people who have never done any kind of fitness training before (like me). I have been attending group fitness and doing circuit training for approx 10 weeks now and have seen my fitness level increase and my general well being improve too. I have found that she trains a great bunch of people all of which are happy to help and motivate you to do your best each and every time.
Amazing coach, never judges and always motivates you to do your best. educates you on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle while helping you get there.
I have been with Rochelle for a year now, she is a wonderful coach, she help me through injuries, she thinks outside the box and make training fun.
Before I started training with Rachelle I was on a constant roller coaster with my motivation and fitness. Having these sessions really settled me back into the routine of working out and focusing on a healthy lifestyle again. At first, the sessions were so challenging and it took a while for me to really enjoy it, but after a few weeks I began to love every session- finding myself looking forward to the next week. Overall I feel so much stronger, fitter and my sleep patterns are much better than they were prior to joining. When the time came to take the next measurements and compare them to when I first started I was so excited and extremely surprised at the results! It only made me want to work harder and harder each session. I have loved every second of Training with Rachelle, she has really pushed me and helped me to reach my health and fitness goals that I could not have done by myself.
I love every session, walk out feeling satisfied everytime. Rachelle is amazing at her job, pushes your limits without breaking you. Iv learnt quiet abit since iv started training with rachelle and feel myself improving on alot of things i have never been able to do.
